Did you know that I'm kind of a big deal? I've held that Olympic flame you are seeing tonight. I was an "escort runner" with the torch in 1996 and ran with 5 different people who carried the Greek fire. My job was to keep them on pace and make sure they didn't pass out. A few of them let me carry it for a bit, too, and it was pretty amazing. Here is the proof from an old newspaper clipping from the KC Star...
