Toys Toys-- Everywhere TOYS!

I just read my friend's blog about the ridiculous amount of toys around the house, and had to laugh. I took this video of P this weekend. This is only about 1/4 of the mess that it sometimes is, but you get the point.

Some Things I Love About Dada

I made the mistake of waiting till after daycare to try and get a birthday pic for Dada, so the only way to get one where he wasn't crying was to put Dora on the TV. Bad Mom.

And he wasn't too interested in singing Happy Birthday, either. But at least you can watch him eat some cheese. So polite- he keeps his mouth closed when he chews. Oh, wait...

Things I love about Dada:

I love riding on your shoulders and giggling my little head off.

I love being a cowboy with you.

I love that you build me forts.

I love when you make horse noises and trot me around the house.

I love that you feed me breakfast every weekday morning while we say bye-bye and blow kisses to Mama out the window.

I love that you have me go get my shoes and coat to put on before daycare.

I love that you play Bob Marley for me in the car.

I love that you are always happy to see me and give me kisses when you get home from work.

I love that you get up with me on Sunday mornings.

I love that you give me cookies (sometimes), but I'd love you even more if you gave them to me every day.

I love that you chase me up the stairs and make buzzing noises when it is time to go take a bath.

I love that you walk me around my room each night to say goodnight to everything we can find.

I love that you tell me 'ni-ni' and 'I'll see you in the morning' before I go to bed.

I love YOU, Dada!

Happy Birthday!

Partay Weekend

Happy 1st birthday to Cousin Noah this weekend!
Check out the amazing cake his mommy made him! The birthday boyWith his big brother, SamMmmmm....cake...
Balloons!
Hershey wanted in on the action.

We also had a book party this weekend. AKA putting a blanket and some books on the floor and calling it a party. He thinks it is fun, and has actually sat down and read a book or two by himself. (Ahhhh-Sweet peace and quiet!!) Of course he doesn't do that in the video, but you get the idea.

How Cold?

How cold was it here last week? These are NOT leftover icicle lights from Christmas. They are real, sharp, and dangerous! Notice the frost on the INSIDE of Preston's windows. We were just able to use our back door again yesterday because these daggers finally melted. The door was also frozen shut, but I was too scared to stand underneath the icicles to try and get it open.

You have to look closely at this one, but it is a MASSIVE icicle at our neighbor's house. Look through the porch right in the middle of the picture and you'll see it. It is kind of hard to make out because the other neighbor's house is white, but you get the idea. I'm guessing it was about 4 feet long at its peak.
I guess I should include a few Preston pics on this post, too. Here he is reading to Mama.
And looking cool in Dada's boots and some shades.

Snow Days

How I spend my snow days...

Broccoli denial, walking in Dada's shoes, playing in my fort, being a VIP, and playing a silly game in my closet. My giggles are the best at the end of the movie, so wait for it!

BCS Big Time

Clint returned last night from the BCS Championship in CA. Highlights of the trip included amazing 50-yard line seats, a Matthew McCanoughey sighting, ESPN VIP tent passes, and beautiful weather. Thanks to Brett for his generosity and serious hook-ups! Brett is big time, so Clint is, too. Click on the first picture for the whole album.
Ahhhhh...looks WARM.
Reading Dada's parking info from the game- he parked on a golf course!Welcome home, Dada! We missed you!

Poop

Too cold to do much of anything. Clint took the camera and the Flip with him on his trip, so no fun posts lately. Funny, because I have had plenty of time to do posts since I had three snow days this week! But we haven't left the house since Tuesday. Sub-zero wind chills ruin all fun. We have built MANY forts in the past few days, though. Preston calls it his 'car' and asks me to make him one about 15 times a day. I obliged twice today because I feel so bad for him being quarantined in the house. He takes his flashlight, drink, keys, and other important things into his 'car' and giggles his head off.
He has also started putting on my slippers, his backpack, grabbing his keys, and walking around saying 'bye-bye'. Quite cute.
AND he was in the bathroom with me yesterday and told me he needed to poop. Actually, he just said 'poop' and grabbed his bum. I asked if he wanted to go on the potty, and he said 'yeth' in his cute little lisp. But I was too slow and he pooped in his diaper before I could figure out how to put his tiny body on our giant toilet. Guess it is time to get a training potty? Seems a bit early, and it was probably a fluke, but may get one anyway for future 'poop' moments. Bet you wanted to hear about poop today, didn't you??
I have enjoyed every second of my extra time with him this week. (Cranky moments-for both of us- and poopy pants included.) Makes me wish I could stay home with him ALL the time!!

What do you do?

What do you do with a 19 month old when it snows nonstop and is too frigid to play outside? Build a fort, of course!
