Weeble-Wobble

I fought the wall...and the wall won. P had a good fat lip yesterday and now it looks like this. Toddlers are very much like weeble-wobbles but they DO fall down. And sometimes they hit a wall on the way.We went to Velvet Creme Popcorn Shop today down the street, because they were having a party. Crazy band wearing KISS make-up and one dressed like Marilyn Monroe, a clown that I thought was creepy, a super cool NASCAR car, a big bouncie thing for kids that was probably full of ringworm, and free popcorn. We didn't do the bouncie thing (yuck) and he didn't really care about the clown. But he DID like the balloon he got and the butter popcorn.
I heart my balloon.

"Mom, I want to go back to the popcorn party!"

Then this afternoon/evening we went out to Kaufman Stadium for a charity tailgate. Preston did NOT want to stay at our party, but he wanted to go visit other tailgates AND the port-a-potty. Nice.

Courtney and Jason were there with her parents, so they stopped by. Jason was teaching Preston how to stomp his "pitching mound" here.

And I'm pretty sure he was teaching him how to light his toots on fire here. Thanks a lot, Mr. Wilson.

Weekend of Sports

We started the weekend off with a typical male game. No, not football. I call this game "Psych".

Then Preston's cousins came over to spend the night and watch the KU football game. Uncle Rico is showing P how Natalie's toy ice cream cone works...

...and he loves it!

A little shameless Jayhawking with the girls. I had them each paint a KU sign Saturday morning.
Then today was The KC Chiefs home opener. Our friends The Wilsons were nice enough to let us tag along with them. They had VIP passes for us, and it was incredible! You know how you walk by those giant tents and think, "Who are the pansies in there that don't tailgate for real?" Well, we were those pansies today and loved every minute of it. Free food and beverages to begin.
Then a MUST for pregame warm-ups: massages! Really. Courtney and I both got a free one right there on the patio. It was AWESOME.

And by far the best seats I've ever had at a game.
Thanks, Wilsons, for another great game!!
PS- What is a Chiefs game without an Elvis sighting?!

Saturday Superman

Trying to make up for lost time this week, I decided to take several videos today for your viewing pleasure. This movie is made up of four segments.

1. Dr. Hooker playing music with his stethoscope on the air register. BEAUtiful.

2. Preston demonstrating his Superman skills while moving his chair around the room. As much as I love the new chair, he likes to use it as a jungle gym more than a seat. He is doing nebulizer treatments and they make him a little 'energetic'. He seems to be feeling much better, but still has a good junky cough. Look out, MC- that chair is gunna smash your head!

3. Mommy trying to get Preston to eat some vegetables tonight. Shhhha- riiight! This continues to be a daily struggle. Sigh.

4. Doing a few of his animal sounds. I swear he does lots of them, but never wants to do it on camera.

On a side note, we went to the fountain park today and, of course, took his sippy cup with us. In the stroller on the ride home, he decided he didn't want it anymore and chucked it. (Because that's what you do when you don't want something anymore, right? Throw it as hard as you can?) What are the odds that it would go directly down the street drain? Apparently they are pretty good, because that's what happened. I honestly think it is the only drain we walk by the whole way, but somehow he managed to aim precisely at it and my super-mom speed wasn't fast enough. Bye-bye, blue sippy cup. We'll miss you.
