May Recap

Preston had a good month- Celebrated Cinco De Mayo at the Lund house, went to do a photo walk at the Nelson, partied with Aunt Molly at the mall, turned two, got a new cool pool, threw up 10 times this weekend, and got a haircut today.
Before
(Yes, we are WT and cut his hair on the driveway today. This was a first, but I'm pretty sure we'll be doing it this way from now on!)
During
"Hmmmmmm...does Dada know what he's doing?"

"I'm holding my breath that Dada doesn't mess this up! I gotta look good for the ladies this summer!"

After
"What did you do to me?!"

So cute with my new haircut!
Click this picture to see the whole month (218 pictures, ridiculous).

Car Pool

Car pools aren't just for adults going to work. They are also for kids to play with during the summer- A BIG thanks to Karen for sending this one to us! Obviously he loves it, and will get a lot of use out of it in the next few months. And mommy likes because she can sit in a chair and relax while he splashes away.
HOORAY FOR SUMMER!!!!!
"ICE COLD!"
"I promise not to text while driving."
"YAHOO!"
"I love my new pool!"
Sup.

Dos

Hard to believe another year has passed in this parenthood journey. It seems like just yesterday we were taking this little guy home. I feel so lucky to have a happy (normally)and healthy son. He makes me laugh every.single.day, and continues to amaze me as his little brain keeps developing. He is a super-soaker-sponge that absorbs everything. I learned this the hard way the other day when I dropped something and muttered under my breath, "Oh crap." Preston promptly said, "OH CWAP! OH CWAP! OH CRAP!"
Crap.
I'm a good mom.
On to the birthday celebration...

This picture is from last night when all party prep was ready to go. These are worm balloons. Clint thought they looked like something else, but we decided to let them come to the party anyway. Party favors (educational, of course). Chalkboards that help teach measurement, left/right, decimals, and writing.

Attempt at the yearly photo...it took a lot of takes. This one seemed appropriate -the first 2 years are a blur because they have gone SO fast! Typical- trying to bolt out of the chair. This is his mischievous face. His pre-party angel face. You want ME to share CAKE? Mmmmmm...cake. He ate it all and promptly said," MO! MO!" If only cake could count as a vegetable...His top 2 presents from the day. NEW Quack Quack shoes and Elmo. (This will probably change tomorrow.) He loves the duck slippers so much that he wanted to wear them in the bath tonight and HAD to put them "Back ON!" as soon as he got out. Message from Sam. Click this photo to see all pics from today.
And the 7 minute movie from the day. Long, I know. But there is a great part towards the end where Sam took some footage for me. His commentary about family is pretty priceless.

Here's to many more celebrations ahead!

Stats from the last check-up:
Head circ- 19.25 inches, 52%ile
Weight- 28.5 lbs, 60%ile
Height- 36.5 inches, 95%ile

Little Things

Sometimes I forget how easy kids are to please. (Normally I forget this when Preston asks for something, changes his mind, asks for something else, changes his mind, DEMANDS something else, etc.)

But SOMEtimes he is happy with the simplest things.

Like Turtle Slippers.

And pictures of airplanes, helicopters, and trains.

(Mom, you'll like how Preston tells Clint EXACTLY where to put the pictures. I don't know who he gets that from...)

On a side note, for all the parents out there, I got my refund check from McNeil Consumer Healthcare today for all of the Motrin/Tylenol we had in the house. Highly recommend you get yours! I was impressed with how quickly they tried to make things right. Hopefully my kid doesn't grow a third arm because of the meds we gave him before knowing there was something wrong with them...

Molly and Preston's Day of Fun!

Molly came to take Preston on a pre-birthday adventure today. We had planned to go to the Zoo, but the weather didn't cooperate. So we went to the mall instead. Who knew it could be so fun! This JUMP! thing was awesome. We decided he would either love it or hate it. Molly was the coolest god-mother ever and went with him. Getting strapped in...

WEEEEEE!!! He LOVED it and immediately said "MORE MORE" when it was over.

Then we went to the arcade that was next door.
Driving my car.

SKEEBALL! (This was more for mommy...)

Carousel ride.

He had a great time. And (obviously) we were not the only ones who took our kids to the mall today...
Sorry most of the pics are blurry- something was wrong with my camera today. Boo.

Mama Love

Happy Mother's Day to all of my mommy friends and MY mom! I am not a perfect mom, that's for sure. But I sure love being one. And feel lucky to have such a great hubby and son. Hope you all had a great day today!

Wait for a special message to all moms at the end of the video...

April Recap and more!

Lots of adventures this month. Click this first photo to see it all. We played outside (a LOT), went to Julia's birthday party, celebrated Easter, went to the park (a LOT), got our first skinned knee, played with silly string at Mima's house, had a big head bonkie, went to a Royal's game with Dada (sorry, no pictures of this because Clint is a slacker), and went to The Farmstead.
We took a trip to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art today with some friends for a photo walk. Great weather for it, and great idea, Bets! I took about a hundred pictures (most of them stink), but here are my favorites from the day. I guess if you take a hundred, you are bound to get a few good ones.
The Reflection Pool was Preston's favorite. Of course, he wanted to swim in it.
Giant shuttlecocks are fun.

Preston called this statue a Kitty and meowed at it. Looks like more of a bear to me, but I'm no art expert.
Running across the lawn.
I told him he needed to hold it up because it was going to fall. "HEAVY!" he said.

Such a Mama's boy...

The rectangle path. Poor Ellen got a bonkie.
Jumping with Aunt Betsy. Check out her vertical!
Ellen thinks Preston is crazy for trying to hold up the building. She doesn't know how STRONG he is.
Left, Left, Left, Right, Left
Mischievous grin.
Love in a shuttlecock?

Maybe we can take their prom pics here someday...
(I stole this pic from Betsy's friend, Jill. It is by far the best one-she is a much better photographer than I am and has a great camera! Thanks, Jill!)
